I have not written.

For days upon days.

I smile and say I’m fine.

I am strong and positive for the sake of others.

I ache.

I want to write.

I think I need it.

But I am frightened.

And I am frustrated.

And today I feel worthless.

The silence of my fingers screams.

My fingers twitch.

But my heart refuses.

And my mind ignores.

The Midnight Whisper

In the quiet. In the dark.

Beside the beating of my heart.

The story whispers secrets to me.

I write them down before they flee.

Between the shadows. Underneath the stars.

In the moonlight that gentles my scars.

The words form sentences that sing to me.

I write them down to set them free.
